My name is Helen O’Dell. I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I founded Difference Wellness to offer help. Why? Because our lives are so busy that we forget to take care of ourselves and we forget what it is like to live a healthy life. We are surrounded by poor food options and confusing information about what we should be eating. We have lost touch with what our food is meant to provide for us; we have lost our connection with and our appreciation for real food.

AND OUR HEALTH IS SUFFERING. IT REALLY IS . . .

Poor food and lifestyle choices are clearly linked with increased risk for chronic disease and we are in the midst of a national health crisis with rising prevalence of both adult and childhood obesity, chronic disease, autoimmune disorders and allergies. Although we are surrounded by conflicting information about nutrition, one can say with certainty that our chemicalized, processed foods are not making us healthy. I believe we have to do the best we can to take care of ourselves, and that means doing what we can to take responsibility for our health.

Health coaching with me through Difference Wellness offers an opportunity for you to sit down and talk about your unique life situation and gain insight into your specific needs—what you need to help you live a healthier life. Making changes can sometimes seem overwhelming, but having someone to support you can make all the difference. Together, we will explore which food and lifestyle choices are serving you, and which are not. I can help you to make healthier food choices and I offer help with learning to live with food allergies, food sensitivities, and autoimmune disorders. Through the coaching process, you will gain a fresh new perspective about your food and lifestyle choices. 

Your health coaching process is yours. It is unique to your needs and to the goals you wish to accomplish. As your health coach, I will show you how to reconnect with real food. You will learn that no one way of eating works for everyone; that you must listen to what your body is telling you; that other areas of your life (your physical activity, career, relationships, and spirituality) impact your food choices and your food choices impact these other areas of your life. I can help you:

  • Learn to appreciate and enjoy clean, real, nutrient rich food
  • Reduce your consumption of sugar and processed foods
  • Learn to live happily with food allergies and sensitivities including gluten intolerance
  • Learn ways of eating to address Celiac Disease and other autoimmune disorders
  • Foster healthy eating habits for your loved ones
  • Create more balance in your life
  • Reconnect with, and take time to care for, yourself
  • Live a more green and grounded life

As your health coach, what I aspire to do is to help; help you get to know your food, help you get to know yourself, and help you make a difference in your well being. When you make a difference in your own well being, you will inspire those around you. And we all need a little inspiration!

I offer individual and group coaching sessions. I would be happy to come to your place of work to offer coaching sessions to you and your coworkers.
